AllianzGI Hires Institutional Business Development Director

Investment managers has appointed Mark Guirey as director of UK institutional business development.

Based in London, Guirey will report to Andy Wiggins, head of UK institutional. He previously spent 13 years at BlackRock where he was a sales director.

“It’s great to have someone of Mark’s experience join the UK institutional team, helping ensure we can deliver the level of high-quality, informed client interaction that both we and our clients expect,” Wiggins said.

The firm has more than €358 billion (£291.5 billion) in assets under management. In January this year Allianz rolled out a emerging market fund. The Luxembourg-domiciled Allianz Emerging Markets Equity Opportunities fund holds between 100 to 150 companies in its portfolio and is managed by Kunal Ghosh, in an eight-member team based out of California.
